Jamie Lynn Spears Remembers ‘Miracle Anniversary’ of Daughter’s Accident

It’s been one year since Jamie Lynn Spears and her family’s lives could have changed forever, but they continue to express gratitude after her daughter survived a horrific ATV accident.
Dubbing the date as her ‘miracle anniversary,’ Spears reached out to her fans via social media with a personal and touching photo back when Maddie lay in the hospital following her injuries. Sourcing faith and prayers as the humbling point of their major turnaround as a family, the singer couldn’t be happier over how far they’ve come from that devastating day.

Back on February 5, 2017, Maddie went riding on ATVs on the family’s property when she flipped her vehicle right into a pond. Staying submerged under the water for a few minutes following the accident, Maddie was quickly airlifted to Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her status remained as unconscious for two days under the facility’s care, until she awoke and was later released on February 10.

After a year in the recovery process, Maddie regained her strength and gumption to start playing sports again and resume life as a normal young girl. She even celebrated her ninth birthday in style, and Spears invited the first responders that saved her daughter’s life to the party in order to thank them for the work they put in on that traumatic day.
Spears kicked off 2018 with not only a humble heart for getting another precious year with her daughter, but also announcing that she was expecting her second child sometime later in the year. Although no due date was revealed, Spears’ fans can anxiously await the birth of another baby for the country singer who will be taking time off from her career until the special day.
