Jana Kramer Dishes On Her Role In ‘Heart of the Country’
Jana Kramer is a busy lady as of late. She’s been on the road with Blake Shelton, she recently split from fiancé Brantley Gilbert, and is currently celebrating the release of her latest project, a starring role in the movie, “Heart of the Country.”
Kramer recently spoke with BFTV about how excited she was to take on the lead role of the flick. “When I read the script I was like, ‘I have to do this,’ she revealed. “It was so crazy.”
The movie, which is based on the novel by Rene Gutteridge, is about a former singer who returns home to her father and sister after her Wall Street husband gets into some trouble. “There were so many similarities between me and the character. And I could sing in it. I basically begged both my teams to make this happen,” she said.
Overall, the “I Hope It Rains” singer is happy with the finished product. “I think I did the role the best that I could have and made it as real as possible,” she admitted. “Probably the last scene was the most difficult for me, because it was raw emotions, [but] the whole film, there were things that I brought in from my own life. I definitely brought a lot of me into it. I just hope that [people] laugh, they smile.”
Kramer learned a lot about herself during the filming of the movie, just like her character. “Just to believe in yourself,” she told BFTV, “and never give up.”
