Jana Kramer Gets Emotional with ‘GMA’ About Abusive Relationship, Moving Forward

Jana Kramer is standing her own and speaking out about her past abusive relationship and how she is coping with her current situation during an honest interview with Good Morning America.

The country singer and mother sat down with the popular morning talk show to open up about the struggles she has faced throughout her life and how she is planning to move forward into a stronger person. Kramer revealed truthful details about the horrific moments while facing abuse from her first husband, Michael Gambino.

“This happened a lot. He would come home from a night out at the club and literally take me out of my bed and throw me onto the ground. He said he was going to kill me, choked me, did all those things, and then I was like, ‘This is it,’” she revealed to the talk show.

Looking to her late grandfather as her “angel,” Kramer recalls praying to him in fear of losing her life and believing her time on Earth was not worth the pain. In the end, Gambino was convicted of pre-meditated murder, but let out on parole after serving five years of jail time. Gambino ended up committing suicide, and Kramer admitted to GMA that she felt “relief” after getting the news.

Briefly touching on the current news about her husband, Michael Caussin’s, infidelity in their marriage, Kramer remains tough in her own skin and understands her worth more than ever.

“I am so much stronger than I ever thought was possible, that I am worthy of a great love and I know that I am truly enough just me,” she said.

Kramer is holding on tight to her position on Dancing with the Stars as she moved through to the next round during this week’s elimination episode.
