Getting to be a mom for the second time was a long, hard road for Jana Kramer. The singer went through a series of trials and tribulations in order to get pregnant, enduring the heartbreak of three miscarriages and two chemical pregnancies.
Her resolute attitude to grow her family never wavered and after a failed IVF attempt, Kramer was pregnant.
She delivered her second child, a boy, on Thursday, Nov. 29. His arrival was nothing short of a miracle so Kramer knew that she and her husband, Michael Caussin, had to represent that when it came time to choose a name for the little one.
“Jace. My sweet baby boy. When I found out Jace meant ‘healing’ I knew right then that was his name. He has been every bit of healing since I found out we were being blessed with another baby. I love you so much baby boy,” she shared on Instagram a day after his delivery.
Jace has been a source of healing for the couple long before he arrived. Kramer previously told PEOPLE that expecting their second child helped both her and Caussin move forward after a difficult period in their relationship.
“Babies and having other kids don’t save a marriage but for us, this baby truly has been a savior for us in a way that we’ve really done our work and gotten dirty,” she said. “We’re bringing a child into this world [so] we have to be there for each other and continue to do our own recovery work for him and me and be in a place where we’re bringing [our son] into the best environment possible.”
