Jason Aldean Has Top-Selling Country Album of 2011 So Far
Nielsen SoundScan recently released album sales totals for the first half of 2011 and Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party tops the country albums chart! So far this year (from January 3-July 3) the country-rocker has sold 763,000 copies of My Kinda Party, the album that features Aldean’s hits such as “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Don’t You Wanna Stay” (feat. Kelly Clarkson), and the title track, “My Kinda Party.”
In addition, My Kinda Party lands at No.4 among the top 20 all-genre albums and is one of only three country albums on that list (Taylor Swift’s Speak Now lands at No.13 and Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now is No.19).
According to Billboard, “a solo male country artist hasn’t ranked this high mid-way through the year since Kenny Chesney’s When the Sun Goes Down was the No. 3 best-seller halfway through 2004.”
My Kinda Party was released November 2, 2010 and is available HERE.
