Jason Aldean Sends Miranda Lambert-Collaboration to Country Radio
Jason Aldean is so proud of "Drowns The Whiskey," his collaboration with Miranda Lambert, that he is sending it to country radio!
Jason Aldean is king of the radio airwaves as his 20th No.1 single “You Make It Easy” has topped the charts for the second consecutive week. To celebrate the song’s success, the Georgia native has revealed to fans that his highly-anticipated follow-up will be his Miranda Lambert-collaboration “Drowns The Whiskey.”
The track is the second release from his eighth studio album, Rearview Town, and is one Aldean is excited for fans to listen to.
“The way fans and radio have responded to this record has been really cool for me,” said the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year. “‘Whiskey’ has always been a favorite of mine, but when Miranda came in and knocked out her parts in only a couple takes, I knew it was special.”

The two superstars were slated to collaborate on Aldean’s latest project, but had originally looked at some other options, none of which Lambert was crazy about. Thankfully, the duo landed on the Brandon Kinney, Jeff Middleton and Josh Thompson-penned song.
“I had a song in mind and I sent it to her. She was just kinda iffy on the song that I sent, and I was like, ‘Hey, if you don’t like it, it’s cool. I want you to love whatever we do.’ So, I had another song that I had in mind. I said, ‘Actually, you know, I’ve got this other thing that I’ll send you and see if you like that better.’ And so I sent he ‘Drowns the Whiskey’ and she loved that song,” Aldean previously told NASH Prep.
“Drowns The Whiskey” is the second time Lambert and Aldean have joined forces, having previously recorded a song called “Grown Woman” on Aldean’s second record.
