Sorry, Sugarland fans. It doesn’t sound like Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush have plans to reunite as a duo anytime soon.
Nettles, who released her debut solo album last year, is currently back in the studio working on the follow up to 2014’s That Girl.
“Right now we’re both doing our solo stuff,” Jennifer Nettles told Entertainment Weekly Thursday (6/18) at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala. “I’m in the studio right now doing another solo record, and Kristian just put one out, so we’re having fun doing that. Go out and see both—twice as nice, baby!”
Nettles took a break from the road and the studio early this year to star on Broadway as Chicago’s Roxie Hart. Bush, however, has been touring non-stop in support of his solo album, Southern Gravity, which hit stores in April.
“I think it’s exciting, and he’s really good at that kind of stuff,” Nettles told Taste of Country of Bush last month. “I love that he’s doing it!”
At this time, no release date has been set for Nettles’ new music.
