This year’s all-new ACM Awards will pair a country legend with two of its next-generation stars, with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett revealed as Dolly Parton’s co-hosts.

Marking the start of a fresh chapter for long-running show — now in its 57th year — Allen and Barrett are the show’s reigning New Male and New Female Artists of the Year, and will also help reveal the year’s nominations.

Set to help Parton emcee one of the genre’s biggest nights on March 7, Allen and Barrett are interesting choices for co-host, but totally understandable as the ACMs begin a new era. Both are red hot rising stars racking up awards and hits over the last few years — plus a stint on Dancing With the Stars for Allen, and a most-played song of the year distinction for Barrett (“I Hope” in 2020) — while the ACMs are intent on changing things up.

The 2022 show will be first major awards show to air exclusively as a live-streamed event, moving over to Amazon Prime Video from it’s previous home on network TV. It will also be commercial free for the first time, take place in Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium for the first time, and feature a new runtime of two hours for the first time.

Meanwhile, Allen and Barrett will also help unveil this year’s nominees, co-hosting a video reveal of select categories on the @ACMawards Twitter account this Thursday (February 10) at 10:30 a.m. ET/9:30 a.m. CT/7:30 a.m. PT.

Damon Whiteside, CEO of the Academy of Country Music, had this to say about the show’s evolution, now showcased by its co-hosting trio.

“The Academy has a long history of highlighting the biggest stars in Country Music alongside today’s rising stars, and this year that will spotlight even further,” he said. “Reigning ACM New Male Artist of the Year winner Jimmie Allen and reigning ACM New Female Artist of the Year Gabby Barrett will co-host the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards side-by-side with Dolly Parton, pairing two of today’s most exciting new artists in the genre with one of the world’s most beloved music icons.”

Parton was revealed as co-host last week. She previously hosted the event in 2000. The 57th Academy of Country Music Awards will stream live without commercial interruption on Prime Video Monday, March 7, at 8 p.m. EST/7 p.m. CST/5 p.m. PST from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
