John Carter Cash and wife Ana Christina Cash have announced the birth of a baby boy, welcoming son James Kristoffer Cash to the world. He arrives as the youngest grandson of country icons Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, as well as Rene and Teresita Alvarez.

Born in Miami, Florida, at 9:13 a.m. ET on Friday, (July 16, 2021), James Kristoffer Cash weighed in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 19 ½ inches in length. John Carter Cash is a singer-songwriter-producer and the son of Johnny and June Carter Cash, and Ana Christina is also an acclaimed singer-songwriter. Ana shared her thoughts on the birth in an official press release.

“My husband John Carter and I are so happy to welcome our baby boy, James Kristoffer Cash into the world today,” she said. “We are absolutely smitten with him and forever grateful.”

“Ana Cristina and I are honored to share the announcement of his birth with the world!” Carter Cash added on Instagram.

The new baby marks the couple’s second child together, following 3½-year-old Grace June Cash, who was born in 2017. Ana Cristina and John Carter have been together for seven years and married since October 2016.

In addition to being the younger brother of Grace June, James Kristoffer is also brother to three of John Carter’s children from two previous marriages: 15-year-old Jack Ezra Cash, 20-year-old AnnaBelle Cash, and 25-year-old Joseph Cash. James Kristoffer’s birth was also welcomed on the official social channels of his famous granddad.
