The work of Johnny Cash will live on for generations to come and thanks to Legacy Recordings, a subdivision of Sony Music Entertainment, fans will continue to receive new music from the prolific singer/songwriter.

Released in 2018, a project called Johnny Cash – Forever Words saw various artists performing songs with lyrics written by the late singer. Using poems, lyrics and other writings from the singer, these artists put the words to music and recorded the new songs. Now, Legacy Recordings is re-issuing an expanded version of the album with 18 new songs (16 previously unreleased).

Released in phases, April 2nd marks the final of four phases, with songs featuring Ruston Kelly, Ronnie Dunn, Brad Paisley, Runaway June, Aaron Lewis and Bill Miller. Previously featured artists include Elvis Costello, Marty Stuart, Jewel, The Lumineers, among others.
