Jon Pardi is in no need of any Heartache Medication… he’s engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Summerfawn Duncan. The country crooner decided to pop the question in front of a packed audience during the second of two headlining shows at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on Wednesday night (10/2).

It was during the show that Pardi began to explain to the crowd that the Ryman was one of the couple’s very first date spots. He then that he decided to drop to one knee and ask Summer to be his bride. They received a standing ovation after she answered with a big “yes” and a kiss.

Pardi previously talked about his longtime love with Entertainment Tonight, saying “Life with Summer is awesome… When it comes to singing about losing her, it’s a big no for me. I definitely want to make her happy.”

“I’ve had my fair share of crazy girlfriends,” he joked. “So it’s nice to be in a totally sustainable relationship… I mean, I still do dumb [things], I’m a guy, but for the most part, I’ve got to pat myself on the back. I’ve been a good boyfriend and it’s nice to really work to make somebody feel loved and feel happy… she’s worth it.”

Pardi and Duncan received a ton of hearty congratulations after their surprise engagement, including a post fron Pardi’s previous tour mate Dierks Bentley.

“My man! @jonpardipics crushing the @theryman stage and crushing life… so proud of you pal. Killer show with my all time fav encore,” Bentley wrote with a backstage view of the proposal. “Congrats to you and @summerfawn_duncan.”

Summer recently starred in the music video for Pardi’s single, “Heartache Medication.” Her leading role happened as the star was in search for someone who could dance and none of the other contenders worked out.

“It was great to have Summer, who I love,” he says. “You can see it all over the music video that we are in love and having a great time. It was a lot of fun,” he told Sounds Like Nashville.

The two shows at the Ryman are the kick-off to Pardi’s highly-anticipated headlining Heartache Medication Tour. The trek will run now through November when it wraps in his home state of California.
