Jonas Brothers To Play Ryman?!

The Tennessean is reporting that the Jonas Brothers are planning a show at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.

It’s not the typical venue for the Jonas Brothers, who have spent the past two years or so selling out arenas all around the country.

“We like to play shows when it’s just solely about the music,” Nick Jonas said. “Being able to get up there and just have fun with our band – that means the world to us. Touring with big productions is always so much fun, but when we get to break it down to a real intimate vibe with the people that are there, that’s always a great time.”

They say they are going for a more intimate feel for this show.

“Nashville’s such a great music city, and we haven’t been there in a long time,” Joe Jonas told The Tennessean. “We wanted to do something special for all our Nashville fans that have been waiting for us to come back. Any chance we get to play our music and have a good time with friends and fans is something we always want to do.”

We find it a little odd that the Jonas Brothers are playing the Ryman…There is so much history on that stage and we hope that they realize what an honor it is to play there. The guys seem to be pretty grounded though, even with the world-wide attention they have received, so we think they’re probably appreciative of this opportunity.

The show is scheduled for January 4, 2009.

*Update* the show is SOLD OUT.
