Jordan Davis Crashes Couple’s Parking Lot Wedding

Country singer Jordan Davis crashed a couple’s parking-lot wedding recently, surprising the unsuspecting fans to sing his Number One hit, “Slow Dance In a Parking Lot.”

As shown on ABC’s Good Morning America, Davis was the perfect wedding singer for the job. Sweethearts Carrie and John Michael were forced to tie the knot in a parking lot after losing their jobs due to COVID-19, so after being clued in by a friend, the hit maker showed up via Zoom to deliver their first dance.

“In honor of Carrie and John Michael, I’m gonna be playing their first dance … and they have no idea that I’m doing ‘Slow Dance In a Parking Lot’ live for them,” Davis said in a video before the event.

The rising star and vocal standout performed his Gold-certified 2019 single solo and acoustic, dressed up in a white collared shirt — the first time he’d worn a collared shirt in months, he joked. He sang and strummed as the couple twirled around in newly wedded bliss, bringing the romantic mid tempo to life. And judging by the look of shock on both of their faces, the stunt helped make a perfect moment that much more unforgettable.

“Our minds were kind of broken, we were like … ‘How did this happen?’ the groom explained afterwards. “The coolest thing was the DJ was able to turn his computer around and we could see him performing.”

“That’s when I started freaking out,” added Carrie. “As the year has gone on, there’s a line from [the song] that says ‘Making the best of whatever we’ve got / Even if it’s just a slow dance in a parking lot,’ and that’s kind of been our anthem for us as entrepreneurs, as a couple, for all the things we grieve not having.”

Congrats to the happy couple! Jordan Davis released his new single “Almost Maybes” in May, marking the first track off his upcoming second album and a current self-titled EP.
