One is dead and seven injured after a crash involving a passenger bus carrying the road crew for Josh Turner on Wednesday night (9/18).

According to CBS Los Angeles, the bus carrying Turner’s crew was traveling eastbound on Highway 46 after a concert in Paso Robles when the driver left the roadway and drove down an embankment. The outlet reports that the reason for the accident was not immediately clear.

Local news station KSBY reports that first responders say the bus launched off an 80-foot cliff and came to a halt when it hit the riverbed. The bus following behind said they saw no brake lights when the bus left the road. CHP will be impounding the vehicle to check for mechanical issues.

The Cal Fire San Luis Obispo Twitter confirms that one person died at the scene, while two others were airlifted with major injuries. The remaining five were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

KSBY also reports that alcohol and drugs were not the cause of the crash.

Turner and his band were not on the bus. The singer had not yet commented on the crash at the time of publication of this article.
