The holiday season is right around the corner, and that means it is time for some much-needed rest and relaxation for country and gospel singer Josh Turner.

That R&R comes in the form of going hunting, especially since November is when the conditions for the activity are perfect in his home state of South Carolina.

“I love being outside in nature and the outdoors, and the holidays is a great time for me to go out and partake in that part of my life,” the singer shared. “It’s a good time to get in the deer stand whether you kill anything or not, it’s just a great time to get away from the everything and get away from the noise and the lights and the diesel fumes and just relax and just enjoy the peace and quiet.”

Like anyone when it comes to Thanksgiving, Turner is very much looking forward to the food, especially his favorite side dish: deviled eggs!

“Where I’m from in South Carolina, I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a bad deviled egg,” he explained. “It’s like everybody has their own twist on it, but they’re all good.”

The country crooner admits he has never actually made the dish, saying that it’s “no easy task.”

“It’s a lot more complicated than it looks, so that’s probably why I never made ‘em myself.”
