“You gotta make it for yourself that you’re proud of and that you put your heart and soul into," said Moore.

When Justin Moore set out to be a country singer, he had hopes to a taste of the success his county music heroes had experienced before him. But eight years and four albums later, the Arkansas native is still churning out great music.

“I moved here with the intention of having one album and one hit song and the fact that it’s turned into the career that it’s turned into is beyond exciting and I’m beyond humbled to be able to sit here and say yeah, we’re putting out our fourth album,” Moore told Sounds Like Nashville. “It’s been a fun ride, man. This album, I believe, is the best we’ve delivered.”

The better than ever album he speaks of is his new project, Kinda Don’t Care. While the project tips a hat to his traditional sound, Moore wanted to step out of his comfort zone and try something new.

“We went out, we recorded a lot of songs that are like songs I’ve recorded in the past and we went out and did some things, for me, that was a little outside of the norm for me,” he said. “I kind of just took the mentality to each, man, just ‘kinda don’t care. It just is what it is, just have fun with it and see what happens.’”

While his new sound may be a bit of a shock for his fans, Moore commits to having made the record he wanted and hopes fans will get on board.

“You kind of have to have the mentality when you record an album, you can’t go make it for everybody else,” he explained. “You gotta make it for yourself that you’re proud of and that you put your heart and soul into. I think that’s a big part of our long-term success is that we have kind of had that mindset.”
