Kacey Musgraves, Florida Georgia Line Join Chip Gaines Challenge

Hit makers Kacey Musgraves and Florida Georgia Line are among the celebrities teaming up with former Fixer Upper star Chip Gaines to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Along with the country stars, Gaines will be joined by Jennifer Lopez, her finacé and baseball all-star Alex Rodriguez, Drew Barrymore and country singer Jessie James Decker for the #ChipInChallenge, trying to raise more than $230,000 for the charity hospital.

So here’s the deal, in 2017 we raised $230,000 for @StJude, and in return, I agreed to shave my head. We all came together for something big and what we were able to accomplish together was really special. We are heading back to St. Jude this year and I’d like to bring them an even bigger check! That challenge works like this: Each star will post about #ChipInChallenge on social media asking fans to donate to the Children’s Hospital in their name. According to People, the celebrity who raises the most money will win “ultimate bragging rights” – and a special trophy built by Gaines himself.

“At the end of the day, the goal is to raise a ton of money for those sweet kids,” says a representative for Gaines. “Every donation is tax deductible and every penny counts – skip your morning coffee and donate $5, or go in with your friends and do something bigger. The point is just to jump in.”

The $230,000 goal was chosen because that’s how much Gaines raised the last time he challenged fans to give – well over his original goal of $25,000. #ChipInChallenge is live now through June 11th, will all money raised going toward St. Jude’s mission to ensure families of children with cancer never receive a bill from them for treatment, travel, housing or food.
