Decking the halls in your own home is what makes Christmas feel like… well, Christmas! Getting to hang the stockings, trim the tree and bake cookies all while in the comfort of your own home is part of the bliss of the holiday.
This year for Christmas, Kacey Musgraves will experience that bliss within the walls of her brand home, one she recently purchased.
“I have my first house this year, that I actually own, so it’s going to be fun for me to get in and decorate it,” she told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “But I’ve actually been going through some renovations, like knocking down walls, so right now it looks like a war zone. There’s dust everywhere and it’s pretty terrible looking, so hopefully by the holidays, it’s wrapping up.”
While she may be hoping for the construction to wrap quickly, the Texas native did admit that she’s a little slow when it comes to taking down all of the holiday décor.
“I’m somebody who will leave their decorations up way too long so I think my Christmas tree might turn into a Valentine’s tree, which might turn into a Fourth of July tree, and then a birthday tree and then we’re back at Christmas. So, convenient really…” she said with a laugh.
Fans can catch Musgraves during the holiday season as she performs on the 2016 CMA Country Christmas special on Monday, November 28, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. Her debut Christmas album, A Very Kacey Christmas, is available for purchase now.
