Kacey Musgraves Adds an Element of Sparkle During ‘Saturday Night Live’ Performance

If anyone could bring back ‘70s disco with a country flair in full force, it’s Kacey Musgraves during her appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live.

The country singer booked her spot to play live on the sketch television series, with actress/comedian Amy Schumer locked in as the host for the week. Putting her girl power into gear, she let the shimmer of the saddle-disco ball and her groovy flared pants set the tone for her dance-oriented performance of “High Horse.” Even her entire band behind her sported matching ensembles relevant to her space-country sound to hype the crowd up more.

Taking things down a notch, Musgraves channeled more of a simpler vibe for her rendition of “Slow Burn.” Letting the lyrics unfold brilliantly on stage and allowing the acoustic guitar to lead the way, Musgraves seemed to settle into her element and revel in the country glow she created during the live broadcast.

It seemed as though the Texas native got her fill of New York City’s most iconic television series, as she documented many moments leading up to the late-night show throughout social media. She even filmed a hilarious promo with Schumer and SNL castmember Aidy Bryant, in which Schumer tells Musgraves to calm down a bit.

Musgraves will finish up a few more promotion trips before heading off on tour with Harry Styles for the summer. More dates and information can be found on her official website.
