Kane Brown Earns MTV VMA Nomination, Reveals Next Single
He's up for the Video For Good award for "Worldwide Beautiful."
Crossover country hit maker Kane Brown continues to build his pop-format following, earning his first nomination from MTV’s Video Music Awards this week.
Announced Wednesday (August 11), Brown is nominated in the Video For Good category for “Worldwide Beautiful” at this year’s VMAs, directed and produced by Alex Alvga.
The news makes Brown’s community-drive clip the only country music video nominated at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards, and puts the country star up against some stiff competition. His category also includes Billie Eilish (“Your Power”), Demi Lovato (“Dancing With The Devil”), H.E.R. (“Fight For You”), Lil Nas X (“MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)”) and Pharrell Williams ft. JAY-Z (“Entrepreneur”), and fan voting is open now.
The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on Sunday, September 12 on MTV, and Brown’s rising profile stems a series of successful pop-radio crossovers. The country hit maker has teamed up with hip hop, R&B, and Top 40 talents like Nelly (“Cool Again”), Khalid and Swae Lee (“Be Like That”) and DJ Marshmello (“One Thing Right”) in recent years, and most recently, with Black Bear for the hypnotic “Memory.”
Meanwhile, Brown has also kept racking up country hits, scoring a Number One at country radio with Chris Young on “Famous Friends” this summer. And now he’s revealed the title of his next country single.
Posting on social media, Kane Brown shared a stylized image of himself in front of a classic car, with a fire-and-brimstone color scheme and the title “One Mississippi” spelled out in lights behind him. He captioned the post “10 days new radio single 🔥,” meaning the track should arrive at the end of next week.
