Kane Brown’s Grandfather Passes Away at Age 65

Kane Brown’s grandfather, Steve Allen Brown, passed away on Friday, September 11. According to his obituary, Steve died at age 65 in a local Rossville, Georgia hospital. Steve was the father of Kane’s mother, Tabatha Brown, who the obituary states was his “favorite daughter.” The obituary also states that Steve was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area and enjoyed “fishing and spending time with his family.”
In addition to Kane and his mother, Steve is survived by his wife of 17 years, Edy Brown, another grandchild, CJ Cordell, great-grandchildren, Brayden Cordell and Kane’s daughter Kingsley Brown, brother Johnny Brown, and sisters Wanda Sue Campbell and Linda Morrison. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Betty Brown and brothers Larry and Frank Brown. Services are taking place on Tuesday, September 15 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia and any memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Brown has not yet commented on the death of his grandfather and is still set to make an appearance at the 55th Academy of Country Music Awards on Wednesday, September 16. The singer will be performing his unifying single “Worldwide Beautiful” from the Grand Ole Opry House stage.
“I am so excited to play the ACMs and share such a powerful message to the community that we all need to come together as one,” Brown told KNID. “And, be a family and everybody love everybody. That’s what ‘Worldwide Beautiful’ is and what it means and I cannot wait to play it for you guys.”
The awards, hosted by Keith Urban, are taking place in Nashville for the first time in the show’s 55-year history and will air at 8/7 Central on CBS. Artists will perform from the Opry House, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe. Other performers include Dan + Shay, Luke Bryan, Mickey Guyton, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert, and more.
