Country star Kane Brown suffered an injured ankle and fell off the stage at a recent concert in Memphis, Tennessee, and then shared a frightening video of the aftermath.

According to reporting by Taste of Country, the accident happened during Brown’s show on Saturday, October 23, and it forced the multi-Platinum star to finish his set in obvious pain.

Videos of the moment show Brown on a riser near the side of his massive stage, pumping the crowd up in the middle of a heavy-hitting country rock anthem. As he steps off the riser and toward the front of the stage, Brown’s foot appears to get snagged on the ground, causing his ankle to buckle and the star to stagger forward. He then tries to regain his balance but seems to have trouble putting weight on the ankle, and eventually tumbles awkwardly off the stage as the band plays on.

Luckily, venue staff are there to break his fall and help Brown back up, but the band stops and house lights are turned on as the star is hurriedly carried backstage, with confused fans looking on.

Later, another video shows Brown doubled over in pain as he finishes the show, clearly favoring the ankle he had just injured. And in a gruesome Instagram story follow up, Brown shared a view of that ankle directly after the show — which did not look good at all. Swollen up like a baseball, the ankle looks severely sprained, but Brown jokingly says “it’s fine.”

There’s been no word on the injury since then, but following a show the next night in Atlanta, Brown had about a week and a half to recover before his next concert (November 4 in Washington, D.C.). His Blessed & Free Tour continues through February 4, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
