Katy Perry Shares Pregnancy Jokes With ‘American Idol’ Judges
AMERICAN IDOL - 'American Idol' returns to ABC for season three on SUNDAY, FEB. 16 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), streaming and on demand, after dominating and claiming the position as SundayÕs No. 1 most social show in 2019. Returning this season to discover the next singing sensation are music industry legends and all-star judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, as well as Emmy¨-winning producer Ryan Seacrest as host. Famed multimedia personality Bobby Bones will return to his role as in-house mentor. (ABC/Eric Liebowitz) LIONEL RICHIE, KATY PERRY, LUKE BRYAN

After using a music video to reveal she and actor Orlando Bloom are expecting their first child last Thursday (“Never Worn White”), Katy Perry broke the news to American Idol fans in a slightly more traditional way.

Found in a cute clip posted over the weekend (March 8), the pop superstar enlists fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie to make her pregnancy public — doing so in typically lighthearted fashion. “We’re having a baby!” she gushes, before adding a relatable “Oh my God, I’m terrified.”

Bloom had also shared the news with his fans the day before, but after a brief celebration, Perry’s Idol co-stars went right back to business. She first asks Bryan if he’ll throw her a baby shower, but has to make it clear there will be no fishing tackle involved. Dejected, Bryan then wonders aloud how things will change backstage, asking the blushing mom-to-be, “Does this mean your dressing room gets bigger?”

“Well, I’m definitely gonna get fat,” Perry says without missing a beat. “So look forward to that! Everything is gonna be bigger and better on American Idol Season 3!”

The third season of American Idol on ABC (and 18th season overall) continues each week on Sundays and Mondays.
