Nashville. Music City. The Athens of the South. This Tennessee town may have built its reputation based on the simple stereotypes that tourists seek out on TV, but in our Nashville, we follow the trends while honoring the traditions that built this spot into the legacy it’s created. Each week, we focus on the latest gallivant around the streets we’ve come to call home for a new adventure and give readers an inside look on what makes this city special. Join us as we chronicle the hilarious and wild experiences with KB in the City.

The city of Nashville is known for many things around the country: its hopping music scene scattered throughout honkytonks down on Broadway, its innovative medical facilities that take care of patients in critical need no matter the case, the growing restaurant industry feeding hungry customers for happy bellies and so much more.

Another development happening in these neck of the woods? Sports. That’s right—sports exploded over the past year with the success of the Nashville Predators making it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals (we’ll get ‘em this year, Smashville) and the Tennessee Titans adding huge stars to their roster for the 2017-2018 season. It’s becoming quite the hot spot in the South to be an athlete.

TopGolf decided to take on the challenge of expanding the realm of sports even further by developing their own space out across the Cumberland River in an up-and-coming part of town. Dubbed TopGolf Nashville of course, anyone from ages nine to 90 piled their clubs together for a tee time experience like none other as soon as ground was broken on the new game facility.

Many may be wondering…what’s the difference between the driving range and something like TopGolf? Simple. The latter of the two invites the noise and the party factor to a rather quiet sport overall; hence, creating a laidback environment for both newbies and seasoned pros to take a swing at hitting that targeted bulls-eye.

Teeing up for a hole-in-one time, TopGolf Nashville assigns each group or individual their own bay a.k.a. personal area to get a few hits in while enjoying a brew and the view. With more than just your average 18-hole course round most golfers are trained to do, players can select whether they want to score themselves by hitting the handful of targets on the extended green, going for total distance or even just getting some simple practice swings in to master that gorgeous stroke.

But it wouldn’t be a Nashville venue without some sort of music connection, so TopGolf decided to make the Music City facility the first one to host its own concert hall. Allowing for artists of all genres to drop in for an evening show or performance, guests can jam out in between rounds to the sounds of some of Nashville’s finest talents.

Celebrities from all industries also like to stop by to brush up on their hits, including some country stars we all know and love such as Kelsea Ballerini, Charles Kelley, Brett Eldredge, Darius Rucker and many more familiar faces you may drive past in the bays.

Although my golf skills needed some light dusting, TopGolf Nashville made the whole ‘practice makes perfect’ phrase more fun than the frustrating aspects of the sport. Within just a few chips of the clubs, I felt like Rory McIlroy playing for the prestigious Masters Golf Tournament trophy. (Okay, I didn’t nail the targets as described, but it still felt good to take in the open air and watch the little ball fly.)

Even taking a load off at one of their multiple food and drink options sprinkled inside the facility made what’s known as a duller sport even more exciting. Compiling some of the TopGolf classic meals with a few Nashville specials thrown in, their selection of grub reflected the athletic atmosphere for those to enjoy a bite to eat while waiting to hit that casual course.

While sports, and especially golf, may seem somewhat like a bogey for a certain amount of people, TopGolf Nashville combines all of the comforts to enjoy a day out on the green without having to shell out a small fortune. Making the game of golf open to hook anyone without the pressures of winning the all-mighty Green Jacket, TopGolf Nashville aims to be the perfect sweet spot to learn a thing or two about the well-beloved pastime.

TopGolf Nashville is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and stays open late until 2 a.m. on the weekends. Membership cards, which last a lifetime, are only $5 at the check-in desk and bays range in price based on time starting at $25. Business meetings, VIP sections and other party requests can be made by contacting TopGolf Nashville for booking appointments. Anyone interested in hitting the links can head over to the TopGolf Nashville website to learn more about the experience.
