“Whatever it takes to get the right sound when you’re recording. Nothing like the acoustics in a hotel bathroom,” the Big Little Lies actress wrote.

Not all music happens within the hallowed halls of a recording studio. Sometimes, it happens inside the walls of a hotel bathroom.

Working on music inside of loo is something that Keith Urban has expertise in, at least according to a photo posted on Nicole Kidman’s Instagram.

“Whatever it takes to get the right sound when you’re recording. Nothing like the acoustics in a hotel bathroom,” the Big Little Lies actress wrote.

In the shot, Urban is deep in concentration, while seated on a chair next to the porcelain throne. With a banjo on his lap and headset on, the singer plucks away on some new tunes.
His creative process is something Urban has talked about previously.

“I can only hear it for what it isn’t. I don’t hear it for what it is… in my head, it’s fully formed, so once it’s out I’m listening to anything that doesn’t match what’s in,” he shared during a South by Southwest panel. “First time you hear it for what it is, is about 10 years later.”

Currently, the singer is out on his 58-city Graffiti U Tour with special guest Kelsea Ballerini. Kidman, and the couple’s two daughters, often join him out on the road.

His latest album, Graffiti U, is available now.
