The biggest names in Hollywood gathered at the 2019 Golden Globes Sunday night, Jan. 6, to celebrate the best in television and movies over the past year. Among the invitees was Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, the latter of which was nominated for her role in the movie Destroyer.
The couple looked completely content as they walked arm in arm down the red carpet, enjoying a glitzy night out on the town.
“It’s really lovely. Lovely to be included and to be invited, and also to be up here [for] Destroyer,” Kidman told ET’s Nancy O’Dell on the carpet outside the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.
While Kidman ultimately walked away empty-handed after losing out to Glenn Close, she was ecstatic that her role was met with such acclaim.
“I was relieved because I wanted the character to be real and I wanted the damage to be real, in terms of the physical damage and the emotional damage,” she shared.
The couple weren’t the only ones with ties to country music at the Golden Globes. Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance to help present the award for best original score and best original song in a motion picture alongside Idris Elba. Swift stunned in an off-the-shoulder Versace gown, paired with her signature red lip.
While she skipped walking the red carpet, she surprised nominee Elizabeth Moss with a special video message.
“Hey it’s Taylor,” Swift said in the clip. “I just wanted to do this video as a shout-out to Elisabeth and say thank you so much for saying in an interview that you listen to my music when you’re shooting Handmaid’s Tale because I’m a huge fan, I’m obsessed with the show.”
