Keith Urban Seeks Out Blake Shelton’s Advice

Keith Urban is currently settling into his new ‘job’ as one of the judges on the Australian version of “The Voice.” Recently, Urban was feeling anxious about coaching, so he reached out to someone with some experience.

Blake Shelton, who is on his second season for the American version of “The Voice,” has a pretty good track record for Urban to reference. He did very well last year on the show when his contestant, Dia Frampton, placed second.

Blake told “CMT Insider’s” Katie Cook that he was surprised when Urban called him up for advice. “He said, ‘Man, I need to talk to you. And I was like, ‘Why?’ And he goes, ‘Man, this show’s about to start airing, and we’ve already done the blinds and the battle rounds.’ And I said, ‘We do need to talk because you’ve never experienced that kind of polarizing reaction from people. You know what I mean? Because people do get invested in a person, and it’s one thing if America votes somebody off the show, but it’s another thing if they can point to the one person that did that.’” Shelton added, “There’s never a right decision to make on those.”
