Keith Urban is amping up anticipation for his new album after releasing the 16 song track listing on Wednesday afternoon (8/5). The singer shared the titles for each of the new songs appearing on The Speed of Now Part 1, out September 18.
Closing out the album is Urban’s smash hit “We Were,” which was co-written by Eric Church. The project will feature both Urban’s original version as well as a collaborative effort with the songwriter himself.
In an interesting tease, however, the Australia native shared that there are two other secret collaborations opening the record, with two voices featured on “Out The Cage,” and a special duet on “One Too Many.” No word on who these tracks might feature, but Urban has been well known for bringing some of music’s biggest stars into his records, both from the country genre and beyond.
It was in early May that Urban announced The Speed of Now Part 1, revealing little snippets of five tracks. The idea for the record came during the year prior, but due to the quarantine, Urban felt its relevance more than ever before.
“In October 2019 this album title came to me,” Urban shared previously. “I liked it because I felt like life was flying by so fast. But music [for me] has always been the place where it slows down and doesn’t even exist. I would never have imagined that, in 2020, this album title would take on a whole new meaning … and still feel so relevant.”
No word yet on when The Speed of Now Part 1 will be available for pre-order or when the collaborations will be revealed, but fans can get their hands on the project when it drops September 18.
