Keith Urban always seems to have great advice for the contestants on “American Idol.” He’s had great success in his career, but many may not know that he was also a contestant on several television singing competitions before he hit it big in the U.S.
During a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly & Michael,” the hosts talked with the “Cop Car” singer about his time on television and the stage fright the current AI contestants are feeling. “I can relate to that,” he said. “I saw it back and I was, ‘Oh, I’m terrible!’ It was a bit of the camera syndrome.”
From his experiences, Urban added that he feels “empathetic” to the young singers.
After talking about his time on the show, Kelly and Michael surprised Urban with a fun clip of him singing Air Supply’s “All Out Of Love” at the age of 16 on an Australian television show. Check it out below.
