Keith Urban Weighs In On Final Season of ‘American Idol’
After 14 seasons, American Idol is coming to an end with its upcoming 15th season. Auditions for the show’s final season recently kicked off, and the judges are reflecting on their time with the hit series.
Billboard spoke with Keith Urban about his three years as an AI judge and what his proudest moment was. Urban “can’t single that out as a specific person or artist,” but is happy that anyone who has been on the show has “the continued opportunity that all these artists have to find an audience — a huge audience” when it ends.
One of the things Urban will miss the most is working with fellow judges Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick, Jr., as well as host Ryan Seacrest. “I love being in this ensemble and they are just easy to work with and fun to be around,” he said.
American Idol’s finale season will kick off January 2016 on FOX.
