Country star Kelsea Ballerini certainly has a way with words — it’s helped her to co-write career-defining hits like “Love Me Like You Mean It,” “Dibs,” and more recently, the deeply-personal tunes found on her kelsea album. But next month fans will see her writing in a new light.

Coming on November 16, Ballerini will release her first book of poetry, a collection titled Feel Your Way Through.

After teasing fans with photos in September, Ballerini and publisher Ballantine announced the book on Monday (October 4). Described as a candid collection of poems that speak straight from the heart, Feel Your Way Through is said to feature “keen intuition, delicate introspection and raw honesty.” Ballerini will open up about everything from her family and relationships, to body image, confidence, self-love, sexuality and the lessons learned from coming of age, as she traces an outline from East Tennessee girl to woman in the spotlight.

Although she hasn’t shared any of the poems yet, Ballerini has revealed the book’s cover art, which features a pastel rainbow behind the outline of a woman, with flowers and sparkles scattered about. And in a description of the project, says her poetry shares much in common with her songs.

“I’ve realized that some feelings can’t be turned into a song . . . so I’ve started writing poems,” Ballerini writes. “Just like my songs, they are personal and honest. Just like my songs, they have hooks and rhymes. Just like my songs, they talk about what it’s like to be twenty-something trying to navigate a wildly beautiful and broken world.”

Feel Your Way Through will be published as a Ballantine Hardcover by Ballantine, an imprint of Random House, and is available for pre-order now.

Kelsea Ballerini is currently on tour with The Jonas Brothers, and her single “half of my hometown (featuring Kenny Chesney)” is nominated for two awards at the upcoming 55th annual CMA Awards — Music Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year.
