Kelsea Ballerini Documents First Voting Experience

The countdown to Election Day 2020 has begun, and many stars in the country community are stepping up at the polls to make their voices heard.

Kelsea Ballerini is just one of many artists who have participated in the early voting opportunities available. She took to social media to give her fans a play-by-play of her experience, as it was her first time rocking the vote.

“…embarrassingly but honestly, this is my first time voting. Im not proud of it, but my naivety has kept me sheltered through a lot of my young adult life. BUT. As I’ve listened and learned, I’ve realized its our responsibility and privilege to use our voices to establish what we as human beings with beating hearts want to see in this country for not only ourselves…but our friends, neighbors, strangers, and future generations,” Ballerini admitted in her personal Instagram post.

Reminding her followers that “our voice is our vote,” the “Hole in the Bottle” singer passed along an inspiring message about the country and why making a difference in America matters.

“America stands for so many beautiful things and I hope (and vote) that it continues to evolve and grow to be a place where EVERYONE is protected, respected, and given equal rights and opportunity,” she said.

Ballerini isn’t the only country star to promote heading to the polls this election season. Eli Young Band encouraged fans about the importance of voting, and Trisha Yearwood reminded Tennessee residents to register to vote by the deadline a couple weeks back.

Nashville actress Connie Britton and Tennessee native Reese Witherspoon also went on social media to spread the word to get people out to vote.

Election Day is just 17 days away on Tuesday, November 3.
