Two queens in their own right came together for a powerful performance during a taping of CMT Crossroads. Ahead of its March 25 premiere, CMT has released Kelsea Ballerini and Hasley’s performance of “homecoming queen?” to fans.

“If there was any song that I wish that I wrote, it is ‘homecoming queen?’ by Kelsea Ballerini,” Halsey announced to fans in Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater, before the duo began strumming their guitars.

The performance clip gives an inside look at the upcoming CMT Crossroads episode featuring the two budding performers.

“From hearing ‘Colors’ for the first time to her playing the first cut of ‘Without Me’ in my living room last year, I’ve always been a fan of Halsey,” Ballerini shared previously of filming the episode with her friend. “I can’t think of anyone I’d rather share the stage with.”

“The first stage Kelsea and I ever shared together was a 3-foot karaoke dance floor right in Nashville,” Halsey added. “We’ve sang together in my living room, in her kitchen and in the backseat of cars in drive-thru lines late at night. This time we get to get on a real stage, one of the most iconic stages in history, and do the thing we love most in front of a city that is so dear to both of us.”

CMT previously released the live performance video of Halsey’s “Graveyard,” another song to be featured on the television special.

You can catch the full episode of CMT Crossroads: Halsey & Kelsea Ballerini on March 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Ballerini’s new self-titled album drops on March 20.
