Kelsea Ballerini to Debut New Album, ‘ballerini’
The songs on 'kelsea' have been re-imagined in an entirely new way.
Kelsea Ballerini is ready to release a brand new album called ballerini on September 11. The singer will debut a new album, a re-imagined version to March 2020’s kelsea, which shares a different take on the same music.
“kelsea is glitter: bold and effervescent and dreams that are boundless. She’s who I want to be. While ballerini is emotional, vulnerable, soft: observes her surroundings and chooses her words carefully. She’s who I am,” explains the Tennessee native. “The album ballerini is the result of the wonder and gets down to the heart of it. Introducing ballerini…the other side of the same story.”
Though the track listing remains the same between both kelsea and ballerini, the songs are wildly different. On the former record, the songs were produced with a pop-country feel, made with live shows in mind. However, on ballerini, the singer stripped back the production to create a more vulnerable song collection. The project was re-recorded during Nashville’s tight quarantine and was co-produced by Ballerini.
The news comes just one day after the “Hole in the Bottle” singer was snubbed for the second year by the CMA Awards nominations. She is, however, looking towards the upcoming ACM Awards where she is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and set to perform.
