It’s almost that time of year again when friends and family gather around their brand new 60-inch Black Friday televisions to watch the annual CMA Country Christmas special. Airing Monday, Nov. 28, the special will once again be hosted by Jennifer Nettles and includes a star-studded lineup of music’s biggest and brightest stars.

Among the impressive lineup for the holiday special is Kelsea Ballerini. During the special, the Tennessee native will perform “My Favorite Things” with 13-year-old prodigy Joey Alexander.

“He’s incredible,” Ballerini told Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “I mean, seeing him on TV and watching him on the Grammys and hearing his stuff is one thing, but just being in the room with him and just watching him just be so passionate and so talented at such a young age is so inspiring for me as a musician and to be able to share the stage with him and kind of just bounce off of him is a really fun experience. It really is.”

With Joey’s inspiration and the performance marking her second time appearing on the hit special, it’s no surprise that Ballerini herself has begun to think about possibly recording and releasing her own Christmas album.

“I would love to do a Christmas album one day. It’s been on my goal list for a while,” she explained. “I just want to make sure I do it at the right time and I would love to write some Christmas songs. I haven’t had time to write even a second record yet. So down the road, I would to when I have time. But I have a mad love for Christmas music, for sure.”

Fans can catch Ballerini with Alexander, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Young, Brett Eldredge, Andra Day, Idina Menzel and many others on CMA Country Christmas on Monday, Nov. 28 on ABC. She’ll stay in the holiday spirit as she’s slated to perform at both the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Kelly Clarkson’s 2nd Annual Miracle on Broadway Holiday Concert.
