Kenny Chesney & Brad Paisley Concentrate On Keeping Fans Entertained, Prices Low

Kenny Chesney & Brad Paisley are the best of the best when it comes to entertaining in country music, and aside from their musical similarities, they share a common goal of making their shows affordable for the fans. Their reason? The fans need the music now more than ever.

Chesney recently announced that his tour stop in Detroit, MI this summer will feautre a “working people section” – a section of seats designated at $29.50/ticket. Although Chesney has already sold-out the stadium the last 3 summers, he knows that Detroit is a good starting point for this type of feature because of the current difficulties with the auto industry. Kenny says “I’ve gotta lotta friends who live in and around Detroit. You know, you hear how rough it is with factories closing down… the auto business having trouble… and you want to do something. I don’t have any answers, beyond taking people away from the troubles for a few hours… and that’s what I can do, and I wanna make sure the people who need to come out the most can do it… I don’t want people not being able to come because they can’t afford a ticket. I’ve been there… and I remember… and I want to know that some ole boy that wants to be a part of this year’s show can. So, no matter who you are, I’m hoping we made that possible.”

When it comes to Paisley’s tour, keeping the tickets affordable meant scaling his production back a bit – a sacrifice that he was willing to make. Brad said “There’s something really ostentatious about rolling into these towns that way when everyone’s hurting. I think (2009) is going to be a little worse than 2008, but I think people are still going to buy tickets because we’re going to keep our prices low. And I think they are still going to come out because they need music more than ever…We need to make sure in these times that we’re not wasting a bunch of stuff like that and that we don’t have venues do stupid things for us because we’re these stars coming in and can demand certain things..There will be much more opportunity to buy them at a lower price if I have my way.”
