We’ve already told you about Blue Chair Bay, Kenny Chesney’s line of island-inspired rums that are the perfect accompaniment for just about any summer activity. (Except for driving, keep safe out there, friends!) Unlike some other celebrity spirits entrepreneurs, Chesney take an extremely hands-on approach to his products, down to picking out the colors for the bottles.

As great as these rums are to sip over ice on a hot day, sometimes you just want a nice breezy cocktail in your hand to enjoy poolside or during an afternoon on the lake. Ace mixologist Monica Gray recently visited Nashville to share some of her favorite recipes, so grab some paper umbrellas and a cocktail shaker and get ready to have a little fun with Blue Chair Bay!

Spiced Mule

2 ounces Blue Chair Bay Spiced Rum
Ginger Beer

Fill a rocks glass or copper mug with ice. Pour Blue Chair Bay Spiced Rum over ice and top with ginger beer. Stir until cold. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you’re feeling fancy!

When this latest addition to the Blue Chair Bay line was released in February, it immediately chained the spiced rum game. Full of tropical vanilla character and spicy cinnamon notes, Blue Chair Bay Spiced Rum is ideal with cola as part of a Cuba Libre or as part of a mule.

My, My, My Key Lime

3 ounces Blue Chair Bay Key Lime Rum Cream
½ ounce Blue Chair Bay Vanilla Rum
2 ounces Coconut Water
Crushed Graham Crackers

Wet the edge of a cocktail glass with a lime wedge and rim the glass with graham cracker crumbs. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the rums and coconut water and shake until chilled. Shake about long enough to hear Kenny sing his hit “Coconut Tree.” Strain into the rimmed cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wheel and a cherry.

Kenny says this is his favorite cocktail made with his favorite variety of Blue Chair Bay. Thanks to the addition of coconut water, this is actually a fairly low-calorie drink, so you can have more than one without feeling too guilty.
