Kenny Chesney Unveils Amphitheaters Dates of Chillaxification Tour

Superstar Kenny Chesney has revealed the 18 amphitheaters he’ll visit on his 2020 Chillaxification Tour, confirming which cities get to experience Chesney’s electrifying show on a (slightly) smaller scale.

Having already announced the 22 stadiums he’ll visit next summer, Chesney’s much-touted return to medium-sized markets will be begin May 7 in West Palm Beach, Florida — the venue where he began his headlining career decades earlier. He’ll be joined by reggae/pop artist Michael Franti & Spearhead.

“As crazy and awesome as the stadium shows are – and there’s nothing like them – there is a vibe to the amphitheater shows that only happens in those places,” Chesney says. “You look out at the lawn, you see everybody coming together, singing the songs – and it’s this community that feels so close.”

The amphitheater dates will be sprinkled in and around the stadium shows, as Chesney crisscrosses the country hitting just about every corner of the nation. He’ll wrap things up in typical Chesney fashion (at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachuetssts, August 28) but also says this tour will be a different animal — especially at the smaller shows.

“I think everyone likes when we change things up,” he says. “The shows are different. We make sure we play all the same songs, but there’s a looseness in the amphitheaters – and with only two acts, there’s also a different kind of intensity. Bringing Michael Franti & Spearhead is going to keep the energy up in a big way, and No Shoes Nation is going to really love them.”

Initial ticket sales for the just-announced shows begin January 24 as part of Live Nation’s Country Megaticket. Tickets for Chesney’s previously announced stadium shows are on sale now, and will feature Florida Georgia Line, Old Dominion and Michael Franti & Spearhead.
