Kenny Chesney Completes Football Documentary

During his time away from touring, Kenny Chesney hasn’t slowed down very much at all. His latest project is a documentary about high school football, something that Chesney is always quick to credit for his strong work ethic. “I was the starting wide receiver, which tells you how great we were,” Chesney says. “And I quit growing my freshman year. But I now know why we practiced longer, why our coach put us through double practices in the summer heat… all those things he put us through. It was to teach us things me and everybody on our team has used to become the people we are.”

To complete the documentary, called The Boys of Fall, Chesney called on some of his friends who just so happen to be heavily involved in the sport. Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Troy Aikman, and John Madden are among the professionals who contributed to the documentary. “I have the ability to have some pretty amazing conversations with some pretty big coaches … some pretty amazing players,” said Chesney. “Everyone I approached, when they understood we were looking for the soul of the game as it’s played in high school, not only were they willing to talk to us, they’d pick up the phone and send us to people they thought we needed to talk to.”

Chesney has reportedly been working on The Boys of Fall for the last year. A deal for the distribution of the documentary is close to being finalized.
