Kenny Chesney Composes Theme Song For New ESPN Series
Kenny Chesney’s long-standing relationship with ESPN continues as the network has called upon the country superstar to compose a theme song for their new series, “Rise Up.” The show will travel to needy schools across the country to give their athletic facilities a much-needed makeover.
Chesney’s theme song for the show, also titled “Rise Up”, is described as a “call-to-action” by the show’s executive producer Joan Lynch.
“He said to me, ‘Joan, this is the hardest thing I’ve done,’” says Lynch. “And then he watched the [New Orleans episode of Rise Up] and he wrote the song in two hours. I couldn’t believe it when he emailed me the lyrics.”
“Rise Up” will premiere on ESPN on Tuesday, September 13, at 7pm ET.
