After four years of marriage, The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry and her husband, former baseball player J.P. Arencibia, have called it quits. According to PEOPLE, the couple filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences on Friday (3/2). The publication reveals that upon reaching Perry’s publicist for comment, they confirmed the news and asked for privacy during this time.

Perry also confirmed the news with a post to Instagram, writing “Yes, sadly it’s true, my marriage has come to an end. I know that beauty will come from ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I’ll be in touch soon.”

The couple met in February 2012 after Arencibia came through a meet & greet line at the Florida Strawberry Festival. According to The Tennessean, Arencibia used some connections to set up the meeting after seeing Perry in the band’s “If I Die Young” music video and “had this moment where he felt like that was going to be a part of his future.”

After popping the question in October 2013, the couple said “I do” at the First Presbyterian Church in Greeneville, Tennessee in June 2014. Perry and her husband were surrounded by family and friends, including Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, as well as Perry’s brothers, Neil and Reid, who served as her best men.
