Though we’re only halfway through 2012, Billboard Magazine has compiled a list of music’s Brightest New Stars (So Far). Representing country music on the list of 20 artists are Kip Moore and Jana Kramer.

Kip Moore, who recently celebrated his single “Somethin’ ‘Bout A Truck” reaching No. 1 for two consecutive weeks, made the list after catching Billboard’s eye with his album Up All Night.

“Having recently topped the charts with “Somethin’ Bout A Truck,” the Southern Georgia native is definitely having a 2012 to remember. Though the single has plenty of hook appeal for the radio crowd, Kip Moore is not just a ditty singer. Tracks like ‘Where You Are Tonight’ and ‘Up All Night’ reveal one of the best new vocalists to come down the pike (or, in Moore’s case, Interstate 75) in quite some time. And, if you need further proof, take a listen to ‘Faith When I Fall,'” Billboard wrote.

Jana Kramer also made the list. Her self-titled debut album reached No. 5 on the SoundScan Top Country Albums Chart and she is currently touring with Brad Paisley on his ‘Virtual Reality’ Tour.

“It’s been a while since Country Music has had a definite break-out female star, but Jana Kramer is likely to change that,” Billboard noted. “The former ‘One Tree Hill’ cast member has been dazzling radio with her ‘Why You Wanna’ single since winter, and her self-titled Warner Music release is packed with follow-up after follow up, such as ‘What I Love About Your Love,’ and the traditional-based ‘Good As You Were Bad.’ There’s a show business cliche about having ‘it,’ and trust us, Jana Kramer has ‘it.'”

Other acts on the list include One Direction, Lana Del Rey, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Fun.
