Georgia boy Kip Moore has always been an open book to fans, telling them stories about his life and his daily ups-and-downs. Most recently, the singer talked about his struggle with depression during the making of his sophomore record, Wild Ones.

“You know, I’ve said it during shows that I literally had a hard fight with depression while making this record,” he told ET Canada during CMA Fest (watch the clip HERE). “It was a tough time in my life. There were a lot of days where it was hard for me to get out of bed.”

Moore, who clearly got a bit choked up in the short clip, said he’s still dealing with it, but is feeling better with each and every passing day.

“[The depression] is something I’m just now falling out of, but that record’s been special to me,” he said.

Moore isn’t the only artist to speak openly about their battle with depression. David Nail and Laura Bell Bundy have also been very candid about their struggles with depression, while recently, Nashville actress Hayden Panettiere has sought help with her postpartum depression.

The “Running For You” singer is currently out on the road for Miranda Lambert’s Keeper of the Flame Tour. He will later pick up his Me and My Kind Tour in the fall with special guest Jon Pardi.
