Kix Brooks Expands Resume as Producer and Lead Actor in New Western Movie

Kix Brooks

Following his run as one half of one of country music’s most successful duos of all time, Kix Brooks continues his career as a solo touring/recording artist while simultaneously exploring new paths. This week, Brooks announced his first lead acting role in the upcoming western “Ambush At Dark Canyon,” available now on demand, at Walmart and Sam’s Club on Jan. 14 and at all retailers on March 11. Additionally, the Walmart release will exclusively include a CD soundtrack produced by Brooks and features a collaboration with Randy Houser, who also makes his acting debut.

“My fans have continued to let me keep doing what I do, whether that’s as an artist, radio host or actor,” said Brooks. “They’ve given me the chance to try new things and a reason to work harder than I ever have before. I’m really proud of all of these projects and can’t wait to see what we get into next!”

Brooks also serves as Executive Producer of the new film “A Country Christmas,” available on DVD at Walmart now and at all retails outlets tomorrow, Nov. 12. The movie is the first of his new family-friendly entertainment brand and also features special appearances by Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus and Trace Adkins. Both Brooks and DeMarcus take producer credits for the holiday movie’s music.

The new films follow Brooks third CMA “National Broadcast Personality of The Year” win for his radio show American Country Countdown. Brooks also hosts his Kickin’ It with Kix radio show five nights a week, co-owns Nashville’s award-winning winery Arrington Vineyards, is a columnist for Country Weekly and has recently added public speaking to his resume.
