Lady A Announce Full ‘What a Song Can Do’ Album Details
They'll complete their first split album release on October 22.
Hit making country trio Lady A released the first half of their eighth studio album earlier this summer. And now they’re ready to complete the project.
Officially announcing the second half of their latest studio project, Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood say the full What a Song Can Do album will arrive on October 22. Check out the track list and more info below.
Described as a love letter to fans following a tumultuous year, What A Song Can Do: Chapter One came out in June and featured the project’s first seven tracks. Those songs artistically touched on everything from the pandemic to the band deciding to change their name — but also made room for plenty of good times, too. The trio started off with the empowered first single, “Like a Lady,” and the reverent strains of the project’s title track, and now its second half completes the story.
Standouts include the trio’s “first true collaboration,” a twang rocker called “Friends Don’t Let Friends” with Thomas Rhett, Darius Rucker and tour mate Carly Pearce. Scott continues down the sassy road of “Like a Lady” with “You Keep Thinking That.” And Haywood sings lead for the first time on “Working On This Love,” which he wrote solo for his wife, Kelli. Plus, Lady A revisit the gracious theme behind the album concept with “Where Would I Be.”
“We’ve rediscovered our purpose, and it’s to entertain and spread a positive message – I really truly believe that,” trio member Charles Kelley says. “I want our legacy to be songs that make people feel good. But, I also think there’s more to our story that hasn’t been written yet.”
Lady A are currently back on the road, having started up their What A Song Can Do headlining tour in late July. The tour features Carly Pearce, Niko Moon and Tenille Arts, and is expected to run through October.
