Lady A got fans in the holiday spirit this year with their On This Winter’s Night (Deluxe) album released on October 30th. The updated version of the 2012 album features four new songs, including “Christmas Through Your Eyes,” which the trio wrote about watching their children enjoy the holidays. In honor of the song, the trio shared what their kids love the most about the holidays. The group’s Hillary Scott says she is especially looking forward to seeing her twin daughters experience Christmas.

“My twins, they’re two and a half, they’ll be almost three at Christmas, will be seeing the magic maybe more than ever,” she told a group of reporters, including Sounds Like Nashville. “I think that they’ll just love the lights on the tree and want to probably rip open every single present. We’ll probably have to wait, keep them up on a shelf just so they don’t get into them.”

Scott and husband Chris also have a seven-year-old daughter named Eisele who is a pro when it comes to Christmas, but the singer wonders if her excitement will increase even more this year.

“My oldest, it’s just that magic of it all,” she says. “She’s been good about sleeping in pretty good on Christmas morning even though she knows Santa’s coming. I’m wondering if this year it will be the 4am wake up call. We’ll see.”

Another important part of the holidays is singing Christmas carols with family, and Lady A’s children are already following in their parents’ footsteps by singing along with their musician parents. The band shared which Christmas carols their littles ones are loving.

“‘Silent Night’ is a big one, my son loved that, and I sometimes sing that to him at night even in the middle of summer, he loves that song,” says Dave Haywood. “The melody and stuff, it’s so beautiful.”

“It’s such a classic melody,” adds Scott. “My little Eisele, she’s seven now, and loved ‘Rudolph’ and she loved ‘Jingle Bells.’ I’m going to try to expand her listening this year.”

The band’s Charles Kelley shared that his 4-year-old son Ward also loves classic Christmas tunes, but he’s been more interested in a certain classic rock song lately.

“He was singing ‘Jingle Bells,” says Kelley. “The song right now he’s singing is Red Hot Chili Peppers’ ‘Under The Bridge.’ He made me play it five times in a row.”
