Lady Antebellum Contributes Original Song To ‘The SpongeBob Musical’

SpongeBob is headed from Bikini Bottom to Broadway for The SpongeBob Musical, and several superstar acts have signed on to contribute original songs to the production.

Premiering next summer in Chicago, the musical will feature songs from artists such as Lady Antebellum, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, John Legend, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, and The Flaming Lips.

Nickelodeon is producing the musical, while Tina Landau will write and direct.

The SpongeBob Musical opens June 7, 2016 at Chicago’s Oriental Theater. The production will open at a later date in New York during the 2016-2017 Broadway season.
