Pop Sensation Lana Del Rey Teases Country Record
We're anxiously awaiting more information...
Pop superstar Lana Del Rey has reportedly been working on an album of country covers, the singer teased in a recent interview. While details are scarce about the new project, she told MOJO that she has an album of country covers recorded, as well as several folk songs waiting to be released.
“I went back and listened to ‘Ride’ and ‘Video Games’ and thought, you know they’re kind of country,” she told the magazine of her last two singles (quotes via ContactMusic). “I mean, they’re definitely not pop. Maybe the way ‘Video Games’ got remastered, they’re pop – but there’s something Americana about it for sure.”
She admitted that while there may be skepticism over the crossover, her music has always had a country influence.
“I’m not going to have pedal steel guitar on every single thing, but it is easy for me to write,” she admitted.
The singer is gearing up to release her latest collection, Chemtrails Over the Country Club. Set for release on March 19, the project will feature songs including “Let Me Love You Like A Woman” and the popular title track.
No word yet on when Lana Del Rey will release her album of country covers and other folk tracks.
