Larry the Cable Guy

This year’s CMT Artists of the Year promises to be an evening filled with celebration in addition to comedy as Larry the Cable Guy takes over hosting duties for the 90-minute special, airing LIVE from Nashville on Tuesday, December 2 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Honoring Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban, the night will feature quips from the host, along with live performances and special guests as each of the five honorees are praised and acknowledged for their incredible accomplishments in country music over the past year. For the first time in the show’s five-year span, the special event will also be simulcast on VH1.

“I’m very excited to get out of the house for a few hours and let the country celebrate this fantastic body I get to look at every day,” says Larry the Cable Guy.

“Larry the Cable Guy is a world class entertainer and he is absolutely beloved by the CMT audience,” said John Hamlin, SVP of Music Events and Talent, CMT. “We are thrilled to have him as our host… but we are very concerned about what he is going to wear to our classy event.”
