A second person of interest in the Las Vegas shooting has been publicly identified for the first time after a judge unsealed nearly 300 pages of search warrant records, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. The name of Douglas Haig, who is a senior engineer for Honeywell Aerospace, had not previously been released.

“Until the investigation can rule otherwise, Marilou Danley and Douglas Haig have become persons of interest who may have conspired with Stephen Paddock to commit Murder with a Deadly Weapon,” reads a Metropolitan Police Department document from October.

Haig spoke to reporters outside of his Mesa, Arizona home Tuesday evening (1/30), confirming that he’d been in contact with investigators.

“I’m the guy that sold ammunition to Stephen Paddock,” Haig reportedly said.

Haig also shared that he’d met once with alleged shooter Stephen Paddock, but did not know him. He later called police to have reporters escorted from his property. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a sign was posted to Haig’s door revealing plans to hold a press conference on Friday (2/2).

In an interview with CBS This Morning, Haig spoke with Mireya Villarreal, revealing he’d sold the shooter 720 rounds of ammunition from his home business.

“I couldn’t detect anything wrong with this guy,” Haig said. “He told me exactly what he wanted. I handed him a box with the ammunition in it, and he paid me and he left.”

As of now, it is unknown of Haig is still a person of interest or if he will be charged with anything. He is also actively cooperating with investigators.

The other person of interest in this investigation, the shooter’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, will likely not face any charges.

“I know and believe there was only one suspect who killed 58 people and injured hundreds more,” said Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo. “All the evidence recovered in this case supports that theory. There was one shooter in the 1 October massacre. There was only one person responsible, and that was Stephen Paddock.”

Paddock opened fire on thousands of fans attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas during Jason Aldean’s set on the final night, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds more. He later died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound as police made their way to his suite on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay.
